Sto Lat Pop!

Once upon a time, long, long, long ago (71 years ago) in a far, far away land (Nova Scotia, Canada) a wee babe was born to a young Polish couple.  The child was a sprite, devilish little boy with a twinkle in his eye and a sweet little grin.  As the couple looked down on their beautiful baby boy they imagined what wonderful things would come of him.  So many dreams they had for him, and so much love they bestowed upon him.

This young boy had a rich childhood filled with a plethora of adventures.  From meeting Maurice “Rocket” Richard, helping out in his parents grocery shop, to playing hockey with greats such a Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita and Gary Cheevers to being a rather bad altar boy, sneaking drinks of the holy wine.

Ah yes this little boy grew up and soon found his way to the wonderful, magical land of The United States of America where he drove a coca-cola truck in college to make extra money and cleverly got all the autographs to the 1966 Chicago Bears Team with Gale Sayers and Brain Piccolo.

In 1966 he married his child bride, whom he met while visiting a mutual friend of theirs in the hospital.  They proceeded to have 4 beautiful daughters all with the man’s spunky spirit and take no cr@p attitude.  What a lucky man indeed.

Who is this lucky man you ask? Well to his wife he will always be Theodorable.  To his grandkids he is known as Bubba, or Bub.  But to me he will always be my daddy!

Happy 71st Birthday Pop! You truly deserve to be happy today and know just how much I love you and appreciate what an incredible support you have been to me over the last year and a half.  Your quiet strength is something that I have come to rely on, cherish and appreciate. I love, love, love you!

Now I ask all of you to wish my Dad a very Happy Birthday!!!

P.S. Please enjoy these 2 really cute, I have no idea who they are kids, singing Happy Birthday to thier own grandfather.  Sto Lat Pop!

First Post-Chemo Scans.

Ok tomorrow is my VERY 1st set of scans EVER!!!And with those scans we will see how well my chemo took and if we can truly say that I have kicked the shit out of cancer and am in remission.

I have to be at the hospital at 8:45 tomorrow to drink the barium (blech) and at 10am, scans will begin.  ::sigh::

So please send any extra prayers, good vibes, ju-ju, chants, luck, faith, good karma and love this way!! To say I am nervous, scared and anxious would be the understatement of the decade.

Wish me luck on my search for NED.
